ABOUT THE COMPANY

One of the market leading conversion companies operating across the UK and Ireland specialising in vehicle conversions.

These converted vehicles range from wheelchair accessible vehicles, adapted minibus and taxi’s to bespoke specialist vehicle conversions.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful candidate will be a key member of the team and will carry out various types of vehicle conversion to a very high standard, with customer satisfaction always in mind.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Receiving the vehicle and carrying out pre-work inspection & paperwork.
  • Read and understand customer specifications as per Job Card.
  • A range of duties to include:
    • Ability to identify, remove and refit vehicle/electrical components in preparation for welding.
    • Use of angle grinder, metal saw, induction heater, etc. in vehicle preparation.
    • Ability to inspect and position new parts in preparation for welding.
    • MIG welding – Light plate.
    • Clean, body seal and refit components to allow vehicle to pass into build.
    • Complete & sign all paperwork
  • Ability to produce quality work in the time allocated, and account for the quality produced.
  • This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities; you will be expected to perform varying tasks as required by your line manager & the business objectives of the organisation.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates must have recognised / comparable qualification with a minimum of 3 years suitable work experience in a similar environment
  • A mindset that prioritises health and safety.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Have a good standard of education to include GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English.
  • Have at least 1 -2 years of welding experience in a similar environment.
  • Be self – motivated with excellent communication skills.
  • Understand technical information and drawings.
  • You will possess a strong team ethos in your work and always willing to provide support to co-workers.
  • Willing to continue to develop and learn
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Full driving licence

 

It would be desirable, but not essential that candidates also have:

  • Relevant qualifications e.g., City and Guilds, BTEC
