2 year contract minimum, client would encourage extensions if both parties agree, as they are ideally looking for someone who will stay on permanently

Our client one of the leading group of companies in Seychelles’ Automotive section requires a Service Manager, reporting directly to the Managing Director, for one of their Passenger Vehicle Dealerships (well selling and known brand).

They offer a full spectrum of service, for instance:   Full spectrum diagnostics with Manufacturer approved tools, Servicing & Maintenance, Genuine Spare Parts & Accessories, Major Overhauling, Mechanical repairs by factory-trained technicians, Hybrid vehicle maintenance and repairs and Pre-delivery inspection of new vehicles.


Responsible for the operations of the Workshop/Service Centre to ensure maximisation of efficiency, revenue, profitability and productivity whilst achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction and maintaining strict adherence and compliance with our vehicle dealerships’ policies, contractual requirements and service levels.

Other Responsibilities And Duties

  • Responsible for implementation, maintenance and optimization of processes and workflows to achieve operational efficiency and deliver a positive service experience for customers.
  • Oversees service team with the focus to create and maintain a productive team with high employee morale.
  • Maintains a high level of customer satisfaction in all automotive service capacities to increase customer retention and referrals.
  • Ensures that records and statistics are maintained and prepares statistics, performance and technical reports as required by Management.
  • Monitors and controls all warranty activity and assures compliance with warranty policies and procedures.
  • Recruits, hires and motivates service technicians.
  • Assists technicians in developing their skills.
  • Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Ensures that all department employees receive appropriate manufacturer training.
  • Conducts regular performance reviews for all technicians in accordance with dealership guidelines.
  • Carries out customer visits and maintains excellent relationship with our top customers.
  • Implementing strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Coaches team members on ways to drive service sales, beneficial training program options, and customer service tactics.
  • Works with the service advisors to ensure proactive resolution of all customer complaints and makes follow up calls, as needed.
  • Enforcing safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ensuring that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
  • Handles all customer complaints within 24 hours, informing other managers as appropriate.


  • Higher National Diploma or equivalent a bachelor’s degree an advantage.
  • At least two years of experience as an automotive service manager or workshop foreman Isuzu, Honda or BMW dealership experience an advantage.
  • In depth knowledge of automotive technology, automotive service technician job duties, and automotive repair services is required.
  • Must have good computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Workshop software applications.
  • Must have ability to use vehicle diagnostic equipment and understand vehicle service/workshop manuals.
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Valid Passport
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.


  1. Does the employer arrange the working Visa and the flight arrangements for the applicant?
  • Yes, the employer will be responsible for the arrangement and cost of the work permit and one return air ticket.


  1. We would assume you would only look at single applicants, or applicants who are happy to work away from home for at least 2 years?
  • Yes, the conditions would make a single applicant more advantageous as schooling is expensive and not covered by the company, we only cover visa costs for the employee, Accommodation provided may not be suitable for a family and the company only pays for one return air fare, we don’t offer a yearly air ticket to visit home. We are looking for an employee who would wish to work for the company in Seychelles on a long term basis – we have a South African National working with us for 6 years now and he does not want to go back to SA.


  1. How will interviews be conducted?
  • Initial interviews will most likely be conducted via Microsoft Teams, however we will be coming to South Africa in April 2023 to conduct face to face interviews.


  1. Does the applicant have to have specific Brand experience?
  • Not specifically, any other brand dealership experience would be great, our Brand experience would be an advantage though.


  1. Any specific applicant requirements?
  • Preferred age of the applicant – 35 years and older
  • Minimum amount of years experience required as a Service Manager (3 years as a Service Manager but many more years as a senior technician.
  • Service Manager should have excellent people management skills and a solid technical background to be a great mentor to our young technicians.


  1. Is there an incentive scheme over and above the remuneration package?
  • Yes, there is an End of year Bonus depending on employee’s performance (maximum 50% of monthly salary.)


  1. Any specific computer system experience required?
  • Microsoft Office applications and vehicle diagnostics systems.
