ABOUT THE COMPANY
A national Auto Repair Centre recognised as one of the premier autocentre groups in England. They have over forty branches across the country providing a wide range of garage services; these include the fitting of clutches, brakes and manual transmissions. They are also able to carry out full car servicing, general repairs and, in selected centres, MOT testing.
The company’s history goes back to 1978 when brothers opened their first branch. Today, both are still very active in business and it is their drive that has seen the brand move from being clutch specialists to offering full autocentre repair services too. Their vision has seen the original company grow into the large, dynamic automotive organisation they are today.
BASIC DUTIES
- You will oversee coordinating the activities of an auto repair shop department to ensure efficient operations.
- Supervising personnel which includes secretaries and technicians to ensure their services meet the standards of quality set by a company to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for assigning and designating job duties to staff according to performance and history.
- Guide and direct the activities of servicing/repairing of vehicles to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Reaching out to customers to encourage them to support their shop for auto repairs and services.
- Oversee the inspection of vehicles before and after repairs to identify faulty components and ensure complete fixing.
- Contact clients to notify them of costs to repair additional faults of vehicles or of finished repairs, date of next scheduled service and other relevant information.
- Build and maintain positive work relationships with customers to create a rapport that patronage and generates revenue for the shop.
- Oversee post -repair services such as test driving, vehicle delivery and other services required for customer satisfaction.
- To supervise the operations of mechanics to ensure time management and quality proceeds.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and procedures ensuring appropriate disposal of environmental wastes such as used oil.
- Present reports and updates to the owner.
- Conduct repair price negotiations with clients to arrive at a favourable bargain.
- Need to maintain record of all vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Most importantly to keep your customers satisfied, be honest and make sure when they step out the door, they have positive attitude and peaceful mind and are returning for future work and also will refer you to others.
REQUIREMENTS
- minimum 4 years’ management experience
- a fitting/mechanic background
- Driving licence
- legal certificate identifying / proving no convictions The client requires candidates who see this as a permanent move and not just as a 3 year contract
- First language to be English
GENERAL
- Visa sponsorship is available for successful overseas applicants
- Accommodation support
- Permanent Contract (for visa purposes, the original contract is for 3 years as that is the maximum period of the first visa. The contract can then be extended for a further 2 years dependant on the candidate’s performance history. After working for the company for 5 years permanent residency can be applied for)
- If the candidate leaves the company for whatever reason before the initial 3 year period, all outstanding monies stilled owed to the company for the sponsorship will immediately be required to be paid back in full

- The company will pay for all immigration (visa), travel (from South Africa to London), toolkit and initial accommodation costs for the applicant only. A payment plan will be worked out to cover the repayment which should work out to approximately UKP 100.00 per month interest free over a 3 year period
